RC Wakiso’s very first project was the repair of a cleft lip (cheiloplasty) for a young girl from Soroti. The child had been abandoned by her mother due to her condition and was being raised by her father alone. Shortly after its formation, RC Wakiso mobilized over UGX 4.5 million and funded the surgery, which was successfully performed at St. Joseph Hospital in Wakiso.
The surgery not only restored the girl’s smile but also brought about a heartwarming reconciliation, her mother returned, and the family was reunited as they went back to their home district.
